This Privacy Policy explains how Veil collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Veil app and related services.

1. Who We Are

Veil is operated by Vexellab Solutions LLP. Veil is a social logging app for cinephiles where members can keep track of titles, build personal libraries, rate entries, write reviews, and interact with other members.

2. Information We Collect

Account information such as your email address and display name.
Profile information you choose to provide, such as an avatar.
Activity you create in Veil, including ratings, reviews, diary-style logs, favorites, watchlist items, follows, comments, reactions, and suggestions shared with other members.
Basic technical information needed to keep the service running, such as request logs, device or browser context, and security-related events from our infrastructure providers.

3. How We Use Information

To create and maintain your account.
To sync your library and social activity across supported devices.
To show your content to people you choose to interact with inside Veil.
To protect the app, investigate abuse, and enforce our community rules.
To respond to support requests and improve reliability.

4. How Information Is Shared

Content you post publicly in Veil, such as reviews or comments, may be visible to other Veil members. We may also share information with service providers that help us operate the app, including infrastructure, authentication, and database providers. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Important: if you delete your account, private profile and library data are removed from active use. Public community contributions such as reviews, comments, and reactions may remain in anonymized form to preserve conversation history and community integrity.

6. Your Choices

You can update parts of your profile from within the app.
You can stop using Veil at any time.
You can request account deletion directly inside the app. See Account Deletion for details.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Veil is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted at this URL with the updated effective date.
